Finding motivation when others seem to be progressing
Do you ever experience that sinking feeling when it seems everyone around you is moving ahead in life, but you're still where you are, just waiting?
You are not alone.
There's always a voice motivating us when we're down, someone who believes in you and says, "You're doing great!" "You've got this!" "I'm sure you'll do better next time."
Oh, how sweet are these words of encouragement?
But, sometimes, we are tired of always being the ones who need motivation. Sometimes, we just want things to get easier.
We also want to be the ones inspiring and encouraging others. We want to be the person in the beautiful wedding dress. We want to celebrate joyfully with our lovely partner because a baby is coming soon or proudly tweeting, "I got the job!" to show the world what we're capable of.
But we keep hearing this common phrase, "Your time will come." The question is, when?
“Be patient.”
But for how long?
You've faced various life challenges – from submitting job applications, receiving countless rejection emails, dealing with toxic relationships, facing moments of self-doubt, financial constraints, and health issues. Despite all of this, you keep cheering yourself on every day.
I salute your strength.
Everyone around you is getting engaged or married, but you still haven't developed a stable relationship. You try to convince yourself that you'll find the right partner "soon," but it's taking forever.
Your parents might be wondering when you'll settle down. Little do they know that you're being patient with someone who's still figuring things out.
You have an incredible idea that could change the world. You keep hoping that one day, someone will see your talent and unique skills. You don't know when that day will come, but you believe it will.
The truth is,
It’s easy to motivate others, but it's tough when you're the one going through the rough phase.
Managing the anxiety associated with uncertainty is challenging. It comes with pressure. And when you're under pressure, you might be tempted to take shortcuts or make choices that don't align with your values. To marry the rich man and "love him later." To achieve success through dubious means rather than working diligently.
Many have given in to the pressure and followed the destructive path of the crowd, while others have learned from their mistakes. However, it's important to make decisions you won't later regret. Don't let desperation or outward pressures influence your decisions. Stay true to yourself and make choices that align with your values and goals.
Finally, it's important to stay strong and believe in yourself (your ability to succeed!) but it's also okay to acknowledge when you're feeling weak and need support.
Try therapy to manage anxiety caused by uncertainty effectively. And reach out for assistance to navigate your situation.
